We stayed at Prairie Springs after our son returned home from Afghanistan. It was a perfect location to unwind from his deployment, peaceful, cozy, and quiet. We were joined by family friends with a toddler. The cottage had plenty of room inside and out for this little boy to roam and play. He especially liked the cows and the train. We had a great time and highly recommend it!

Tom and I came here to celebrate my 56th birthday. I am always looking for unique venues, and this place was so very special. I half expected inside to be dusty and full of cobwebs, but boy was I wrong! It was immaculate, even in the cracks and crevices of the stone. How do you guys do that Barry & Sandy! We really didn't want to leave the cottage, but we did go to Milford Lake Saturday and rented a Pontoon from Acorn Lake Resort for 4 hours. That was really nice, but it was good to get back to the beautiful ranch. We really want to bring our son and his family (4 grandkids ages 8, 8, 5 and 18 months) here. They will love it as much as us! Thank you Barry and Sandy, for sharing a place of God's rich beauty with so many people!

Celebrated a K-State graduation this weekend with friends and family here. Perfect venue! Cottage is fully equipped with ALL needs. Very quiet, comfortable and clean. I highly recommend it!!!! Pictures on line do not do it justice! Wish we could have stayed longer.

When my sweetheart returned from his one year deployment in Iraq, we spent 6 unforgettable nights at Prairie Springs Cottage. The cottage and ranch is a magical place; it was the perfect environment for him to decompress in peace and quiet and beauty. Barry and Sandy were not only gracious hosts, they went above and beyond the call of duty. My soldier was looking forward to having some moist chocolate cake and when I asked the Clay's to recommend a bakery, the next day Barry brought us a delicious chocolate cake Sandy had baked for my soldier! It touched us both very deeply and I hope I am blessed the opportunity to return to the cottage and see the Clay's again. And you couldn't ask for a more convenient location near Fort Riley, Manhattan and Konza Prairie Preserve. I have stayed in many, many vacation rentals and Prairie Springs Cottage was by far the best rental experience I have ever had. I will never forget it, or the Clay's. My soldier and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

So glad all the hotels were booked when we came to see our son before he deployed. What a great find. We look forward to meeting up with you again next year when we come for his homecoming. A stressful time for us, but meeting the two of you and staying out there was very calming. Thank you so much.

We spent our 41st wedding anniversary at your wonderful cottage. It was so peaceful and quiet and had such wonderful amenities (a great stocked kitchen) that it made cooking a delight. The wood burning stove topped off the whole weekend. The only downside was we weren't invited for afternoon wine! Maybe next time right Barry! Hope we can make it back sometimes to say hi to the cows and that great big dog of yours!!! Thanks

Mr. Clay - Thank you very much for providing my friends and I with one of the most unusual, well designed and appointed places I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The Cottage was shockingly nice. Your pictures really do not do it justice. I would highly recommend your accomodations to anyone looking for something a little differant and off the beaten path. Your location was much more accessable than I had imagined and just far enough out of the way that there is no human noise and every star imaginable is visable. You have a special thing on your hands and I applaud your hard work and effort. I hope to make this a annual stay. Keep up the good work. Hi guys, Just wanted to say again how much we enjoyed our stay. The cottage was awesome - both its appearance and comfort - and so were the surroundings. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. We will be back. I am posting a link to an album of photos depicting our stay: http://public.fotki.com/dtheb123/prairie-springs-cottage/ You may click on the link and watch a slideshow, or if you click on the individual photo, it opens that photo. We were looking for a place of escape and relaxation before the birth of our second child and we found it! The majestic Flint Hills provide the perfect setting for this serene get-away and the beautifully preserved cottage takes you back to a simpler time almost as if it were reminding you to stop and smell the fresh air! It's the perfect spot for "together time" regardless of age...our 2-year-old, Noah, loved the experienced as much as we did! In a day and age when we must, unfortunately, plan to relax, Prairie Springs Cottage is "must do"! We'll see you later this year Barry and Sandy and introduce you to our latest addition; Caleb. Thank you!
